After Indian politicians, Lalit Modi received help from British Prince Andrew for Indian visa

June 21: It seems that the world knew about Lalit Modi’s travel papers and we Indians just found it out. In a recent development in the Lalit Modi-Sushma Swaraj controversy it surfaced that Andrew-the Duke of York who is the second son of Queen Elizabeth II has known the former IPL Commissioner for many years and has also met Modi last year. It has been reportedly said that Modi used Royal names to acquire Indian visa. Reports suggests that Modi took help of British Prince Andrew for acquiring Indian visa
Modi’s immigration papers had raised a controversy after External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj accepted for providing Modi the required documents for travelling on humanitarian grounds for meeting his ailing wife in London. Modi had also accpeted of taking help from Rajasthan Chief Minister, Vasundhara Raje. It was also later reportedly found Modi gave unsecured loans to Vasudhara Raje son’s venture Niyant Heritage Hotels by investing in the business.
In 2010, Modi had travelled to London after he was accused of match-fixing and betting in the Indian Premier Legaue (IPL). Opposition has been constantly demanding resignation of Sushma Swaraj since the row came up. Congress had also demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to break silence on the ongoing issue.
