Amrinder’s double speak on contesting SGPC elections reflects Congress’ dual policy

Chandiagrh : Shiromani Akali Dal today lashed at PPCC Chief Captain Amrinder Singh for his double speak on contesting SGPC elections and stated that the statement of Amrinder once again reflected the dual Congress policy of pretending to be secular but trying to infiltrate Sikh organisations from the backdoor. In a statement issued here, Member Parliament and party General Secretary Prem Singh Chandumajra questioned Captain Amrinder Singh as to why he had never explained his reasons for rejoining the congress party after saying a good bye to it by holding it responsible for the attack on Sri Darbar Sahib. He said the truth of the matter was that Amarinder had played the role of a mole in the SAD after quitting the Congress. “This explains Amarinder’s prompt decision to desert the SAD and rejoin the Congress”, he added.Describing the PPCC Chief as a ‘Captain of a Sinking Ship’, Mr Chandumajra said anyone who was acquainted with Punjab could sense that the Congress was on a losing spree. He said even the top Congress brass had become disheartened and now even the PCC chief had started making an “excuse list” by stating the Akalis had a subtle link with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Reiterating that the SAD-BJP alliance would contest 2017 assembly polls on the development agenda, the senior MP said the alliance had gained the confidence of the people of the state by ushering in a development era in the state during last 9 years. He said parties like Congress and AAP were opting for a negative campaign as they were finding it difficult to counter the development and pro-people initiatives initiated by SAD-BJP government. Chandumajra said the SAD- BJP never believed in hand in glove political tactics as it had a strong development agenda which could effectively counter the decisive and defamatory campaign of the opposition parties.
