‘Baba Guru Nanak University’ To Be Built At Nankana Sahib

LAHORE :In commemoration of the 548th birth anniversary of the Sikh master, Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the Pakistan government has announced to open a new university – ‘Baba Guru Nanak University’ at Nankana Sahib (in East Punjab – Pakistan). The foundation stone of new University will be laid in January next year.
Speaking to Sikh24, Chairman of Evacuee Trust Property Board, Siddiquil Farooq, said that the Pakistan government has presented four gifts to Sikhs on the eve of 548th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Sahib this year:
Opening of new ‘Baba Guru Nanak University’
Opening of Gurdwara Kiyara Sahib in the province of Nankana Sahib that was closed several years ago.
Inauguration of Angitha Sahib at Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib
Monument of Bhai Mardana Ji installed
Chairman Farooq also announced that the Pakistan government has granted 3319 visas this year to the Sikh pilgrims which is the highest number for that last few years.
Marking the occasion, President of Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee S. Tara Singh, other dignitaries and over 2000 Sikhs were warmly welcomed by the Siddiquil Farooq and the government.
