BAPU SURAT SINGH: “DO NOT CREMATE MY BODY UNTIL SIKH POLITICAL PRISONERS ARE RELEASED”

LUDHIANA, Punjab—In a final blow to the Punjab Government, Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa gave a statement stating that his body should not be cremated until the Sikh political prisoners are not released. Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa has been on hunger protest since January 16, 2015. Due to the recent attempts by the Government to smear his image, Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa refused to drink water on December 6, 2015.
Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa gave the following statement through a video –
“Sadh Sangat Ji,
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
It has been two days since I stopped drinking water. My final moments are near.
My body should not be cremated until Sikh political prisoners are released.
My last desire is to have darshan of the three Takhts, along with the birthplace of Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale and Chawnk Mehta (headquarters of the Damdami Taksal).”
Bapu Surat Singh is on fast till death seeking release of all political prisoners languishing in jails across India. He has sought unconditional release of all political prisoners of all religions – Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims, Christians and others who have languishing in jails despite having completed their sentences.
