Bittu invites all Punjab MP’s to unite on farmer’s issues in Lok Sabha

LUDHIANA: To strengthen the voice of the farmers, Congress Member of Parliament from Ludhiana Ravneet Singh Bittu have invited all the MP’s of Punjab to come on a united platform and demand special package such as loan waiver for the farmers in the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament.
Bittu said the farmers of Punjab and other states are facing hard time and to put required pressure on the centre all the MP’s rising above the party lines should raise their voices in the support of farmers from a united platform in Lok Sabha.
Worried over the situation of the farmers, S. Ravneet Singh Bittu said with the weather destroying major part of their last produce the financial condition of the farmers has worsened and is forcing them to commit suicide. The Union Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now announced only Rs 50 hike in MSP of wheat which proves that the government has turned blind eye to the plight of farmers, added Bittu.
While questioning the mysterious silence of Punjab Government over the issue of livelihood of farmers, Bittu recalled the tenure of UPA government led by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh when the Centre to protect the farmers had always announced bonus over and above the prevailing MSP under similar circumstances but the now silent SAD who claims to be the sole well wishers of farmers earlier never missed an opportunity to reject both the MSP as well as the bonus amount.
Ravneet Singh Bittu said it is a need of hour that Union Government should announce loan waiver for the farmers and to force Government to announce the same, the MP’s of Punjab should form a pressure group and strengthen the voice for Punjab’s farmer in Lok Sabha.
