Bodh – A cognisance for us!

Bodh – A cognisance for us!

A tried and tested name in both the Hindi and Punjabi movie industry, Manav Vij, has recently featured in a Hindi-short film named ‘Bodh – A Journey Within’. The movie was released yesterday under the banner of White Hill Music, thus, becoming their maiden venture in the Hindi language. It is produced by Gunbir Singh Sidhu & Manmord Sidhu, who have produced blockbusters like Punjab 1984, Jatt & Juliet Series, Channa Mereya & Sardaarji series.
Been written and directed by Canada-based film-maker, Sohrab Sandhu, the movie covers a couple of major social evils in caste system and eve-teasing, both of which are prevalent in India and that too, at a large scale. The film lays emphasis on how these two social points of contention have a dire affect on our society.
Not that people in India are not aware about these social tribulations, it is just that not many people accumulate the appropriate amount of courage to speak on, or for that matter, against such topics. In that aspect, one has to credit the whole team of Bodh for coming up with such a project. The story also puts light on how we, the citizens of India, despite our growth in our own individual or professional lives, have failed to grow on the societal front or when it comes to the inner growth. The fact of the matter is perhaps the fact that we still do not know how to react in/on such situations.
As far as the actors in the movie are concerned, Vij has impressed the audience yet again. After his recent projects in Shivam Nair’s ‘Naam Shabana’, Ranjit Tiwari’s ‘Lucknow Central’ and Param Shiv’s ‘Bhalwan Singh’, this is another epitome as to why he is in such a demand these days. Apart from Vij, Dilawar Sidhu, Gurfateh Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Suresh Raavan, Chirag and Anurag have played pivotal roles in the movie.
