Capt contesting from Lambi on Badal’s invitation: Kejriwal

Chandigarh, January 17 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief and former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh should contest from only one seat in the state Assembly elections. Kejriwal, who is addressing a press conference in Chandigarh, alleged SAD patron and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had approached Capt Amarinder Singh to contest against him in Lambi so that the “anti-Badal vote” could get divided in the constituency. Capt Amarinder Singh is also contesting in Patiala.
Keeping up the ante on the allegations of drugs in the state, Kejriwal declared that Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia “will be in jail by April 15; note the date”. Majithia has been repeatedly accused by the AAP of ties with drug smugglers.
The top AAP leader also said a special investigation team (SIT) will be set up to probe the charges against Agriculture Minister Tota Singh and others.
Kejriwal said the AAP will not compromise on the contentious issue of SYL.
Terming it a political issue which needed to be handled at different levels, Kejriwal said the BJP had government in Punjab, Haryana and at the Centre, “If Modi ji wants he can solve the issue in five minutes but he won’t as it is a political issue.”  He stressed that he wanted to announce the deadline of action against Majithia today and to reiterate that the AAP will solve all issues of the state but no right of the state would be compromised.
