Capt tells ADC to submit report on discrepancies before joining new posting

Muktsar : Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Friday directed ADC (D) Muktsar Kulwant Singh to submit his report in the alleged discrepancies in disbursement of Rs 40 crore house repair funds in Lambi and then only take charge of the ADC (G), Pathankot. Raveen Thukral, media adviser to the CM, confirmed the development on phone. The state government on Thursday had transferred Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Kulwant Singh, an IAS officer who was probing the alleged discrepancies in the disbursal of Rs 40 crore for house repairs in former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s constituency Lambi.
In the run-up to the Assembly polls, the then SAD-BJP government had disbursed the amount late last year, which was then termed by Congress leaders as “a bribe to woo voters”.
They had also demanded a probe into the matter. In December last year, an inquiry was marked to Kulwant Singh, now transferred as ADC (General), Pathankot, with the additional charge of Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Pathankot. Sources said the inquiry was nearing completion when the transfer order was issued. The Director, Rural Development Department, had last month sought a report from the ADC (D).
