China stocks open mixed on Wednesday

Beijing, June 17: Chinese stocks opened mixed on Wednesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.06 percent to open at 4,890.55 points. The Shenzhen Component Index opened at 17,073.08 points, down 0.02 percent, Xinhua news agency reported.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China’s NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, opened 0.12 percent lower at 3,586.37 points. Better-than-expected factory output and contained consumer and wholesale price indices buoyed sentiments and led to a barometer index of the Indian equities markets on Monday gaining more than 160 points in the late-afternoon trade session.The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) gained more than 160 points or 0.60 percent during the session under review. The healthy intra-day gains came after three straight weeks of losses at the barometer index.
