Delegation of real estate developers calls on Deputy CM

Chandigarh, June 25: Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal today asked the local bodies and development authorities to look into the issues of real estate developers and come out with needful recommendations to resolve their genuine grievances. Deputy CM gave this directive when a delegation of realtors called on him at his residence with a demand to provide relief on ED charges.
Seeking personal intervention of Mr. Badal, the members of delegation led by Jarnail Singh Bajwa of Sunny Enclave apprised demanded that the external development charges should be rationalised as these were very high besides early solution of their pending issues. After hearing the delegation patiently, Mr. Badal asked the delegation to submit a detailed charter of demands to him so that adequate steps could be taken for their facilitation. Mr. Badal also fixed next meeting with the realtors on July 24 to discuss their demands. He said that on the demand of developers, Punjab Government had already rationalised (lowered) the collectors rates almost in all districts and assured that their pending issues would also be sorted out.
He said Punjab has introduced new housing policy, full advantage of which should be taken by the developers with a focus on affordable houses to economically weaker sections (EWS) of society. He also informed the delegation that in one year Punjab would extend all basic amenities in urban as well as rural areas of the state at a cost of Rs. 4000.Prominent among others present in the meeting included Principal Secretary to Deputy Chief Minister P.S. Aujla, Special Principal Secretary to Deputy CM Rahul Tiwari, Rajesh Agarwal Vice Chairman PSIDC, Jarnail Singh Bajwa, Amrit Lal Aggarwal, Amrik Singh Chawla, Jashanpreet Singh Chawla, R.K. Goel, Krishna Sharma Kuku, Amardeep Singh, Kapil Mehra, Sat Dev, Ashok Malhotra, Mohinder Goel, Rupinder Chawla, Deepak Ratra, Balraj Bhasin and Major Singh.
