Failing to Produce Evidence Against Rupinder Singh and his brother, Punjab Police Seeks Lie Detection Exam

FARIDKOT—Punjab Police is facing major embarrassment as it has failed to present any evidence against Rupinder Singh and his brother Jaswinder Singh in case of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib held at Bargadi village. Having failed at presenting any proof, the police has now resorted to lie detection exams to buy more time to keep the brothers under custody.Sikh24 has learned from internal sources that the Punjab government was discussing over their release; however two senior officials of the Police stopped it from doing so arguing that both brothers had been arrested on basis of evidences. They have asked the Government to provide more time so lie detection exams could be conducted. After being convinced by these officials, Punjab government has now decided to seek permission for the test from the court.Meanwhile father of arrested youth Darshan Singh alleged that his innocent sons are being harassed by the Police and they had been framed into false cases. On Wednesday, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) leaders Jaskaran Singh Kahansingh wala, Surjit Singh Khalsa and others submitted memorandum to the Faridkot deputy commissioner Malwinder Singh Jaggi seeking withdrawal of cases against the brothers. The memorandum has also been sent to the Supreme court chief justice, Punjab and Haryana High court chief justice, Human rights Commission and minorities commission.
