Farmers and commission agents being harassed by nonpayment of paddy crop- Aman Arora

CHANDIGARH : The Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday asked Capt. Amarinder Singh led Congress government to make sure that the payment of paddy crop id made to the farmers and commission agents so that the already oppressed community don’t suffer anymore. In a press statement, AAP state co-president, Aman Arora said that during his visit to the grain markets, the issue of nonpayment was raised by the farmers and commission agents. The farmers have to wait for more than 15 days to get their payments and that is resulting to delay in sowing next crop as the farmers have to sow wheat crop as per the recommendation of PAU. Apart from that, being the wedding time of year it is difficult for farmers to buy essentials for the purpose.
Arora said that the farmers have to repay the loans of banks and co-operative societies and the delay for government side will lead to penalty on the loans. He said that along with Punjab government, Narendra Modi led central government is also responsible for the pitiable condition of farmers in the state. The move of making payment in phases that cash credit limit is delaying the payment of farmers. It would have been better if Punjab government and central government had made a permanent solution of the payment of farmers.
Arora said that chief minister Capt. Amarinder Singh must take time from his personal affairs and focus on the betterment of the farmers of the state. He must make sure that the concerned agencies must pay the money to farmers on time as he had announced that all the payments will be made in 48 hours. Arora also requested union cabinet minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Vijay Sampla to wake their government up and do needful to release the funds from central governments. He said that both the ministers must fulfill their duty of representing Punjab at central level.
