Guru Granth Sahib burnt at historical Gurdwara of Bathinda

BATHINDA : A day after the incident of Guru Granth Sahib’s sacrilege in Bhikhiwind, another unfortunate incident of burning of Holy Scripture of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in a historical Gurdwara of Bathinda has come to fore. The incident took place today when the Palki Sahib caught fire under mysterious circumstances in historical Gurdwara Sri Gurusar Sahib of village Mehma Swayi (Goniana) of Bathinda district earlier today, April 5.
Initial reports reveal that a Holy Scripture of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was been burnt in the fire originating from unknown sources.  On getting apprised of the incident, the Police and the Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Committee have reached the incident spot and have started probing the incident.Sikh Activist and General Secretary of Youth Akali Dal (Amritsar) S. Navdeep Singh alleged that this cannot be due to a short circuit.  He told Sikh24 that it appears like the new episode of serial sacrilege incidents has once again started in Punjab.
Slamming the Congress led Punjab government for failing to pay attention towards this issue, S. Navdeep Singh said that the Congress had promised to trace and nab the culprits of sacrilege episode of 2015 in its poll manifesto.“Nabbing the culprit is far, instead the Congress government is appearing helpless in controlling these incidents,” he added.
