Hazoor Sahib Sikh Museum Promise Back In The Talks as New Management Takes Over

NANDED, Maharashtra, India (May 5, 2015)—During the 300th Gurtagaddi Divas of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in 2008, Sikh leaders promised inauguration of a “mega museum” however, even after passage of 7 years no museum has yet been established. Sikh Sangat of Hazoor Sahib has been continuously making demands for a museum as there are various historical artifacts in Hazoor Sahib that are not being taken care of properly.
While speaking with Sikh24, a local Sikh named Amandeep Singh said that it is wonderful that the Gurdwara Committee has invested greatly for the evening laser show, however there are various promises which have been pending for years. He said that local Sikhs feel ‘cheated’ as the management promised the museum during 300th year celebrations, however the promise has not been fulfilled. He further added that the current museum doors are closed during daytime, which hinders Sikh devotees from learning about Sikh history.
He asked if it is right for management committees to ignore the demands of the Sikh devotees.
“With the change in management committee, the expectations of Sikh devotees has gotten a new light,” he added. “However, we are not sure if Tara Singh would do a good job with the museum. We need to preserve our history but we definitely don’t want any influence from the BJP or RSS,” he added.
