High Court suspends session court sentence, no jail for Salman Khan

Mumbai : The Bombay High Court suspended the five year sentence of the Mumbai Session Court given to Salman Khan in 2002 hit-and-run case. Salman Khan has been granted regular bail and he won’t go in jail for now. The High Court will now hear the case with fresh arguments. The defence lawyer of Salman Khan, Amit Desai brought up the issue of Kamaal Khan who was not examined in the case. Desai also said that the key witness deceased Ravindra Patil’s statement was artificial and he was brought to say certain things only.Judge asked Public Prosecutor, how do you know, just because the man was drunk he wanted to kill someone. Judge also seemed positive on the fact that if the case is on, the person cannot be kept in Jail.Earlier, Salman had been given interim bail of two days on May 6 after the Mumbai Session Court had sentenced him 5 years jail in the case. On May 6, the Mumbai Session Court has found Salman Khan guilty in September 2002 hit-and-run case after all the eight charges were proved against the actor. After the judgement of session court, Salman had approached the High Court and got an interim bail.
