High drama after Sangrur villager kills uncle following altercation

Sangrur, December 25- Following a high drama after a youth shot dead his uncle at Kapial village in this district on Sunday night, police arrested him on Monday morning.
The Bhawanigarh police arrested Amandeep Singh alias Rinku (27) from his house in the village.
Rinku on Sunday night shot dead his uncle, Sultan Singh, and since then, along with a woman, had been hiding in his house. He had two licenced weapons with him with which he fired at the police on Monday morning.
SP (Investigations) Harmeet Singh Hundal said, “We asked his mother to engage in conversation. Meanwhile, our team entered the house from behind and nabbed Rinku and the woman.”
Rinku is the son of Balraj Singh, an arhtiya of Bhawanigarh. Three years ago the family shifted to Bhawanigarh from their native village Kapial. Six months ago, Rinku brought Amarinder Kaur, who practised occult powers, to his Kapial house. She started staying there. But the uncle objected to it.
“On Sunday night, the uncle went to see Rinku, who was with Amarinder. When Sultan asked Rinku to throw Amarinder out of the house, there was an altercation and Rinku shot dead Sultan,” said Gurmeet Singh, a local.
The police reached the village on Sunday night, but fearing attack from the accused, they did not enter the house and tried to persuade him to surrender. On Monday morning, when the police tried to enter the house, Rinku fired at the police.
