House adjourned after ruckus over Rahul’s accusations against govt

New Delhi, July 20 : The Lok Sabha was on Friday adjourned till 1.45 pm following ruckus after Rahul Gandhi hit out at the Modi government yet again carrying out ‘Jumla’ attack during the ongoing debate on the no-confidence motion. The Congress president alleged that despite making tall promises the Modi government had failed to fulfil any of them. He said that despite making announcements at various forums the promised Rs 15 lakh were yet to be credited to people’s account.
He alleged that despite promising employment to two crore unemployed youth only four lakh had managed to obtain employment.
Rahul accused Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman of lying on the Rafael deal. He alleged that during the UPA regime the aircraft cost Rs 520 crore as per the deal but the cost was escalated to Rs 1,600 crore during the NDA government. He claimed that despite announcement by the defence minister the deal figures were not revealed citing secrecy clause but alleged that he had been told by the French President that there was no such clause. At this the defence minister stood up and tried to interject resulting in commotion in the House though Rahul continued his speech levelling more allegations against the government.
The Lok Sabha took up for debate the no-confidence vote against the Narendra Modi government, the first since the BJP-led dispensation came to power four years ago.
