In memory of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Google puts black ribbon on homepage!

Mumbai : Google is well known for its colourful and memorable doodles on their homepage but on July 29, 2015 it put up a simple black ribbon in the memory of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam who passed on July 27. The former President of India died after suffering from a massive cardiac arrest while taking a lecture in IIM Shillong. The 83-year-old will be cremated in his hometown Rameswaram amidst the outpouring number of followers. APJ Abdul Kalam’s death has left the country in state of shock and the people of India are mourning the loss of great personality. The demise of Dr. Kalam was quite shocking to the nation and his followers as the renowned scientist was not unwell. He was energetic and looked forward to the development of country but passed away to leave back the weeping people. His body was flown in a special aircraft to Delhi where President Pranab Mukherjee and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi received it at the Palam airport. It was followed by long line of dignitaries offering their last respects to the former President at his Delhi residence 10, Rajaji Marg. On Wednesday, Dr. Kalam’s body was flown out of Delhi in a C-130 J Super Hercules aircraft of the Indian Air Force to his hometown Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu. The body of India’s ‘Missile Man’ was brought in a gun carriage from his 10, Rajaji Marg residence. In Rameswaram, the body will be kept for people to pay homage till 7 p.m. The burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
