Intelligence Bureau (IB) alert: ISIS planning attack in India

New Delhi, June 18: The Intelligence Bureau (IB) has reportedly issued an alert of possible attack by terror outfit Islamic States (IS) also known as Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) or Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) across the country. According to India Today report, IB has issued alert to all state police forces saying that the group can target Turkish nationals and interests in the country.The alert was issued on June 1 by IB that states that consequent to development in Syria, Turkish Missions and interests in various countries would be on target of terror organization ISIS. The IB asked the state police department to strengthen the security of Turkish interests. As of now India wasn’t affected by the terror activities of the ISIS except few youths from minorities tried to join the terror outfit. IB is in contact with Western security agencies to keep an eye on the activities of ISIS-backed terror module. While Indian agencies have been working on the influence of the group on Indian youth, there was no input till now about the group striking in India. It is the first time that the IB issued an alert to the possibility of a strike in the country.
