Is SGPC showing fake relics of Pir Budhu Shah in darshan Didar Yatra ?

CHANDIGARH: A controversy has brewed over authenticity of relics of Pir Budhu Shah presented to him by Tenth Sikh master Guru Gobind Singh ji. The Shiromani Gurdawara Parbhandak Committee (SGPC) has displayed the relics for public viewing during Darshan Didar Yatra. The descendents of Pir Budhu Shah have claimed the original relics are in their possession and what SGPC is showing to Sikh community is a ‘fraud”. Now questions are being raised on the very purpose of launching the Darshan Didar Yatra immediately after the Moga Orbit bus incident in which a minor girl was molested and killed by the staff members of Orbit Bus Company owned by Deputy Chief Minister and SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal. Sukhpal Singh Khaira a former Congress MLA who has raised the issue of Pir Budhu Shah’s relics said that Darshan Didar Yatra was a ploy to divert the attention of people of Punjab from the gory incident of Moga. He added that there was rage of anger against Badal family after the Moga Orbit bus incident and they took the Sikh community for a ride to cool down the tempers. He said that SAD controls the SGPC and its President Avtar Singh Makkar is a “puppet” of Badals.
Khaira had written to SGPC President and Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh to verify the authenticity of relics of Pir Budhu Shah but SGPC has been avoiding to comment on the issue. Khaira has circulated a Video sent by Sayed Naeem Haider the 8th generation descendent of Pir Budhu Shah, currently living in Los Angeles, California, USA. Sayed Naeem Haider is grandson of Sayed Haider Hussain and son of Shafe Ali.
Sayed Naeem Haider in his video message he has clearly stated that original relics are safe with the family and anybody can come and see. He has also warned against misleading the Sikh community on this issue. As per his statement and claim, the relics were bestowed upon Pir Budhu Shah by Guru Gobind Singh ji in 1685, after the battle of Bhangani as a mark of respect. The said relics are in possession with the family for the last 330 years. He has stated that his family shifted to USA in 1998 from Lahore. The family earlier resided in Karachi from where they had shifted to Lahore in 1960. His father late Sayed Shafe Ali died in the year 1962, when he was only 16 years of age. Since his uncle/”tayaji” was issueless, the relics were handed over to his mother by his grandmother, being the eldest heir of the family.
Thereafter, the family got the relics of Guru Gobind Singh ji honorably preserved by a museum of USA. The relics contain a “Dastar”, “Kanga”, “Kirpan” a small sword and a “Hukamnama”, supported by original documents of Rs. 60 scholarship or pension, awarded to family by the princely state of Nabha.
