Jalandhar-Amritsar highway opens for traffic, claims Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh

AMRITSAR: The Sikh organisations who were blocking Amritsar-Jalandhar national highway for the last one week today agreed to remove dharna from Beas bridge linking Doaba and Majha region.
Kumwar Vijay Partap Singh DIG border range posted on his facebook page that “With all your good wishes and cooperation, Beas bridge is now open for traffic”. The Sikhs were holding dharna at Beas bridge for the last over one week in protest against exoneration of dera chief Gurmeet Ram Raheem Singh and sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib.
Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh claimed that dharna was removed due to negotiations with the Sikh organisations, mmutual trust and active ccoperation of all sides.
He stated that now the road route to Amritsar from Jalandhar is open for general traffic. With this, the entire Border Range from Pathankot to Tarntaran is open for all purposes. Congratulations and thanks to all for making an environment of mutual cooperation and trust, he added.
