Journalist burnt alive for Facebook posts against Samajwadi Party MLA Ram Murti in Uttar Pradesh

Shahjahanpur, June 9: In a gruesome incident, a journalist was allegedly burnt alive by police in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. According to reports of IBN Live, a social media journalist Jagendra Singh dies after he was allegedly set on fire by police for writing against Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Ram Murti on Facebook.
However the police claimed that Jagendra Singh committed suicide, the journalist’s family alleged that the police burnt him alive and he succumbed to his injuries. The deceased had reportedly written against Ram Murti in newspaper accusing him of involving in illegal mining and forced occupation of land, etc. Singhs’ writing offended SP MLA and he allegedly implicated Singh in a false case. According to police version, they went to arrest Singh in a case; he refused to surrender and burnt himself. While eye witness held police responsible for the death of Singh.
