Mann Forecasts a Landslide Victory in 2017 Assembly Elections

CHANDIGARH : On being interviewed by media, President of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) S. Simranjit Singh Mann has forecasted of a landslide victory during the upcoming assembly elections across Punjab in 2017. He asserted that his party alongwith United Akali Dal led by Bhai Mohkam Singh, will oust the Akali-Congress parties from Punjab.Terming the overwhelming mass support to Sarbat Khalsa as symbol of assembly elections victory, he stated that his party was a democratic one and it believes in a peaceful struggle. He also said that Panthik leaders and bodies (like Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwala, Bhai Panthpreet Singh, Dal Khalsa, Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani) etc.) that remained distanced from ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ would also be convinced to join their struggle to wash out Akali regime from Punjab.
Refuting the allegations of hijacking the Panthik crisis to earn political mileage following desecration incidents across Punjab, he said that it was his party who took bold action against the brutality of police after the martyrdom of two innocent Sikhs in police fire at Bargari.Reiterating his stance about Sikh sovereignty, Mann stated that he was, he is and he will stand in favour of establishment of a buffer Sikh state. He also added that getting political Sikh prisoners released and solving issues of farmers would be their priority after getting in power following 2017 assembly elections.He also clarified that there are no chances of joining hands with AAP till it doesn’t apologise for using derogatory remarks against great Sikh of 20th century Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale.Defending the decision of appointing Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara as Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib, S. Mann said that if Shaheed Udham Singh was not wrong in assassinating General Dwyer, then how is Hawara? He added that Hawara punished a perpetrator responsible of massacre of thousands of innocent Sikh youth across Punjab.
