No surrender, Langah on run

Gurdaspur : Former SAD minister Sucha Singh Langah, booked for rape yesterday, did not turn up at the district courts to surrender today, as announced by him on Friday. There was high drama inside the courts with his supporters camping there since morning. A senior officer called it a ploy to divert police attention. Mediapersons and CID personnel too kept waiting outside the court of Duty Magistrate-cum-CJM Gurinder Singh till late in the evening. HS Bhullar, SSP, said they had raided 12 hideouts. Langah’s passport has already been impounded by a Chandigarh court in a disproportionate assets case. A videotape submitted by the complainant has been sealed. She had made a confessional statement and faces prosecution if she retracts.
