Pakistan’s ISI Using Khalistani Extremists to Stoke Unrest in Punjab

Chandigarh, Dec 7 : An NIA probe on Wednesday revealed that Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) has been using Khalistani extremists to plot targetted killings of members of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Dera Sacha Sauda followers in Punjab. They are also being used to incite communal violence in Punjab, a report in TOI said.
To stoke unrest in Punjab and kill people, ISI used Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) led by Harminder Singh Mintoo, who is lodged in Moga jail. The plot to incite tension in the state was revealed when NIA was questioning Ramandeep Singh and Hardeep Singh for investigation in the murder of an RSS member Ravinder Gosain, who was killed in Ludhiana in October 2017. The report said that the hitmen admitted that they have been involved in the killing of RSS Punjab vice-president Jagdish Gagneja in 2016, Shiv Sena leader Durga Prasad Gupta in 2016, Dera Sacha Sauda follower Satpal Singh and his son in February 2017 and a few others. They also admitted to killing and targetting a few others.
The hitmen – Ramandeep Singh and Hardeep Singh – were hired on a contract basis in 2015 and were asked to carry out assassinations of prominent leaders in Punjab.
