Pro-Badal Sant Samaj demands resignation of high priests

Ludhiana, September 28 : Sant Samaj, the conglomerate of the Sikh sants headed by Damdami Taksal chief Harnam Singh Dhumma, today called upon Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh and other high priests to withdraw their decision exonerating Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh or resign. It may be mentioned that for the last several years, the Sant Samaj has been supporting the Akali Dal and Chief minister Parkash Singh Badal. it is in this context that the positioning by this body in this controversy is significant.Dhumma warned that in case the Akal Takht Jathedar failed to act as per the decision taken at today’s meeting of Sant Samaj, the high priests should be prepared to face people’s wrath.
