Punjab native Birender Singh Dhanoa appointed AIF Vice Chief

CHANDIGARH: Birender Singh Dhanoa a native of Gharuan village of district Mohali in Punjab has been appointed Vice Chief of Indian Air Force(IAF). He belongs to a family of soldiers. His grand father Sant Singh had fought in Wordl War II. His father Sarayan Singh was the Chief Secretary to Punjab Government in 1980’s.
Birender Singh Dhanoa who took over his charge in Delhi on June 1 had last visited the village in 2014 to attend a function even as his parents had sold the agriculture land in the village. Serving in the IAF as Air Marshal, Dhnaoa is a fightrer pilot. He is an alummnus of Rashtriya Indian Military College and National Defence Academy. He had also served as Chief Instructor at the Defence Services Staff College and commanded a squadron during Kargil war.
