Punjabi Singer booked for bid to grab property

Jalandhar : The New Baradari police have booked Punjabi singer Gulzar Singh Lahoria, his wife Manpreet and two other persons for a bid to grab property in Isarpur Colony here.
A case under sections 406, 420, 465, 468, 471 and 120B of the IPC has been registered.
US-based Rajinder Singh told the police that he had given his two-storeyed house for caretaking to his relative, Lahoria. The first floor was locked, while the singer was staying on the ground floor. “When we returned home recently, we found the locks on the first floor broken and our furniture and electronic appliances missing,” the complainant said. He approached the Police Commissioner, who marked an inquiry to the then ACP Jasvir Rai, following which the FIR was registered. Sources said Lahoria’s wife told the police that they had struck a deal to buy the house from Rajinder in 2012 for Rs 45 lakh. She said Rs 25 lakh were paid in advance, but Rajinder did not turn up at the time of the registry.
