Ram Rahim enjoys ‘special treatment’ in jail, alleges inmate

Rohtak, November 14 : A jail inmate of convicted Sirsa Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has alleged that the self-styled godman is given a “special treatment” by the authorities in the jail. Rahul Jain, the bailed-out convict, alleged, “Authorities say that Baba is in the same jail, but no one has seen him there. No one is allowed to go where Baba is kept,” adding, “all other inmates are locked up when Ram Rahim is let out of his cell, as he mostly goes to the canteen to get water, milk or juice.” Jain alleged: “Other prisoners are deprived of basic necessities since Ram Rahim was jailed.”
He said, “Our troubles began since the day he was brought to the jail. Earlier, we used to roam freely inside the campus and food was also good, but all has changed. Our basic needs, like clothes and shoes, have also stopped coming. Our fellow prisoner Ashok approached a judge following which the supply gradually began as the jail authorities were pulled up.”
Jain said the inmates also held a strike against the “injustice”, but it did not change the situation. Jain also rebuffed the reports of Ram Rahim working in the jail.
