Rs 1.63 crore looted from bank van in daylight robbery

Moga, July 13: – In a daring daylight robbery, the robbers robbed about Rs 1.63 crore from a bank van on the Ludhiana-Moga busy highway near Jagraon today. The robbers were in police uniform.They stopped the Axis Bank cash van that was on way to Ferozepur from Ludhiana near Killi Chahal village. Six in numbers, the robbers asked the bank staff to come with them to kaonke police post nearby. As the staff resisted, they were ordered to get down at gun point and made to sit in their car. Later they transferred the cash to their car near Nanaksar and escape.Jalandhar Zone IG Alok Nath Angra said the staff lodged the complaint with Jagraon police station and investigation was on.
