RS adjourned as opposition clubs 2G acquittals with Manmohan Singh issue

New Delhi, December 21 : The 2G verdict found its echo in the Rajya Sabha again after opposition leaders tried to club the acquittals in the 2G scam on Thursday with PM Modi’s statement against Manmohan Singh.
Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad said, “We had wanted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s clarification on his allegations against former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
“The other allegation (about 2G scam) that led to the downfall of the Congress-led UPA has been proved wrong,” he said, even as Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu voiced strictures against him raising the issue without notice or his prior permission.
Quoting past precedents, Naidu said he was not going to allow suspension of Zero Hour (on the issue related to Modi’s statement against his predecessor).
“Under rules I will permit everything, but outside the rules I will not permit anything, Naidu said, negating the Opposition demand for suspension of proceedings of the House.
“Please follow rules, follow the maryada,” Naidu said, condemning the behaviour of Opposition members shouting slogans against Modi, asking them to go back to their seats.
