SGPC honours Nitish for hosting Parkash Utsav

Amritsar : The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) today honoured Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for organising a mega function to celebrate the 350th Parkash Purb of Guru Gobind Singh in Patna in January.
The Chief Minister was given a “siropa” (robe of honur) by the Golden Temple’s head granthi, Giani Jagtar Singh. Nitish also visited Akal Takht, where he was honoured with a garland of flowers.
A delegation of officials from Bihar, led by the CM, was here to offer thanksgiving prayers at the Golden Temple for successfully hosting the Parkash Purab.
SGPC president Kirpal Singh Badungar presented a model of the Golden Temple, Sri Sahib (sword), ‘siropa’ and other articles to Nitish. Bihar officials were also honoured.
Badungar asked the CM to pay a visit to the state on the occasion of Hola Mohalla next month or the anniversary of the Khalsa Panth’s foundation in April.
Talking to the mediapersons, Nitish said, “I have experienced divine bliss by paying obeisance at the Golden Temple.”
