Shooter gets police job

Chandigarh : The Cabinet today approved the appointment of Ajitesh Kaushal, an international rifle shooter, as a Sub-Inspector in the Punjab Police.
Ajitesh has won 85 medals in shooting at state, national and international levels. He is an A-grade sportsman of the state Sports Department. He was earlier given Rs 5.22 lakh for his performances.
His father, Rakesh Kaushal, is a PPS officer, presently posted as the Commandant of 3rd Battalion at Mohali. The Cabinet also regularised the services of lecturers Jaswinder Singh, Harjeet Singh and Haroon Naeem Khan, who are working on a contract basis with Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Police Academy, Phillaur.
The Cabinet decision has been taken in accordance with the order of the Punjab and Haryana High Court regarding the regularisation of services of 19 law officers.
