Sikh devotees offer prayer on Indo Pak border

BATALA : To get the free access for Gurdwara Kartarpu Sahib In Pakistan from Indian border town Dera Baba Nanak to ,The sikh devotees led by Karatar Pur Sahib Ravi Darshan Abhilashi Sanstha under the aegis of Veteran Akali leader Kuldeep Singh wadala offered a monthly wise prayer on Indo Pak International border today. It was the 195 th prayer which was organized on the occasion of every Amavasya.
The Gurdwara Kartar pur sahib constructed in the sacred memory First Guru of Sikhism , Guru Nanak Dev ji and the Gurudwara was left behind in the Pakistan during the Indo Pak partition in 1947, which was just 3 Km from the border town of Dera Baba Nanak, where Guru Nanak Dev used to cultivate the agricultural land and Guru Nanak Dev spent 17 years of his life and he died at Kartarpur where a Gurdwara was constructed in his sacred memory before the partition.
The Border Security Force (BSF) had constructed a darshan sathal on Indo Pak border to provide facility for the devotees to see the Gurdwara Kartar pur sahib in Pakistan on its own cost ,besides a canteen for the pilgrims who come from the different parts of the country and abroad every day.
The Karatar Pur Sahib Ravi Darshan Abhilashi Sanstha had been seeking free access which is also called corridor from Dera Baba Nanak to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib and for this purposed its deputation had already been met to former Prime Ministers of both countries who had expressed their sympathy .
The Union Government led by then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh had sent then External Affairs Minister Pranav Mukerji to review the possibility to provide the corridor to the Sikh devotees.
The sanstha also visited the Gurdwara Kartar Pur Sahaib in Pakistan a number of times and spent lakhs of Rupees on the Karsew (renovation work) on the Gurdwara.
