South Carolina House holding marathon debate over Confederate flag removal

London, July 9: The South Carolina House is holding a heated discussion on the bill that would remove the Confederate flag from the state capitol grounds. According to BBC, Governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley earlier urged fellow Republicans to remove the flag.Dozens of amendments by Republicans aimed at slowing down passage of the bill were rejected during the session.The killer of nine people at Charleston Church last month was pictured flying the flag following which the backlash against the emblem has grown.
