Stuart Broad admits his cricketing heroes were Aussies

Sydney, Aug 4: England fast bowler Stuart Broad, whose father Chris was a former Ashes star, has revealed that his cricketing heroes were Australian players.Broad, who is just one wicket away from entering the elite 300-club, said that although he was very proud of his dad and what he had achieved in Ashes cricket, his actual heroes weren’t English, News.com.au reported.Broad maintained that he used to enjoy watching Australian players succeed, while calling Glenn McGrath as his childhood hero. He said that unfortunately his heroes were Australian.Broad boasts a terrific figure against Australia as his 75 of 299 wickets have come against them at an average of 29.54.In the absence of the injured paceman James Anderson, Broad has been given the mantle of spearheading the bowling attack in the fourth Ashes Test at Trent Bridge.
