Sukhbir behind jailbreak; wanted to eliminate Kejriwal, me: Bhagwant

Fatehgarh Sahib : Sangrur AAP MP Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday alleged that Pakistan had no role in the Nabha jailbreak case as it was staged by Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal in order to eliminate Mann and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal in view of the forthcoming assembly elections in Punjab.
Mann was addressing a rally to launch the election campaign of party candidate Lakhvir Singh Rai at the old Sirhind grain market.
In his hour-long speech, Mann wondered as to how Sukhbir, who is also the Home Minister, came to know within 15 minutes that the attack was organised from across the border. He asked the people not to fear such incidents as these were “being organised across the state to terrorise people”. He said false cases were being registered against AAP leaders to terrorise them.
Lashing out at the SAD and Congress, Mann said both political parties were hand-in-glove to wrest power in the state. He said the SAD was now deliberately asking its MLAs to resign from the party and join the Congress so that an impression was created among people that the Congress would come to power.
He said the government had failed to identify the policemen who had killed two youths after the desecration of the religious books at Bargari village in Faridkot.
Mann claimed that whatever development the Badals had initiated in the state was done to promote their business interests. He said roads were being four-laned as buses owned by the Badals were plying on them.
He said Sukhbir was far away from reality, and the Badals who felt happy seeing lines of tractors at grain markets didn’t know that farmers were bringing the newly bought tractors to sell them to raise funds for the marriage of their daughters.
