Sushma-Lalit Row: Visa granted to Lalit Modi as per rules, maintain British authorities

London : The United Kingdom (UK) Home Office today maintained its stand that it dealt with Lalit Modi’s case without any diplomatic pressure. The UK Home Office assured that no rules were violated while granting travel documents to Lalit Modi. “Lalit Modi’s case was dealt with as per rules. Senior UK Visa official, Sarah Rapson acted appropriately and professionally on the request of travel documents of Lalit Modi,” UK Home Office told to NDTV.
Earlier the British government also decided not to probe Keith Vaz, the senior Labour Party Member of Parliament who is currently in the centre of a storm for allegedly using his public position to facilitate the travel papers of scam-tainted Lalit Modi. The controversy around Lalit Modi’s travel documents of UK began when a UK-based The Sunday Times published leaked emails of Keith Vaz revealing how the Labour MP took the personal interest in the matter of Lalit Modi.
