Two Lankan fans, too much fun!

Nagpur : The Sunday crowd totalled 19,731 at the ground today, and of these, only two were partisan Sri Lanka supporters. Gayan Senanayaka and Mohamed Nilam caused much mirth and excitement in the stands, and cops and kids were equally keen to click a selfie with them.
Senanayaka and Nilam have gone pro in their role as travelling supporters of the Sri Lankan team. Both are sponsored by Sri Lankan commercial firms whose logos are emblazoned across their T-shirts. The life of the fan travelling on a low budget can be a bit arduous — on a visit to Bangladesh, for instance, the two flew from Colombo to Chennai, did a 32-hour train journey to Kolkata, then travelled 12 hours by bus from Kolkata to Dhaka. The compensations are many, too. They’ve watched cricket in countries such as Australia, England and the UAE, apart from India and Bangladesh. They’re also not averse to names-dropping and selfie-displaying — here is Nilam having dinner with Kohli, and there he is chatting with Mohammed Amir in the UAE.
They’ve been watching the game together for 17 years, right from 2000, but ventured out of their own country for the first time in 2006. “In Sri Lanka, we didn’t have a problem because it’s a small country and we could travel between venues by bus or train, and there were friends or relatives in each city with whom we could stay,“ says Senanayaka. “But to travel abroad, we needed help, and we were supported by many cricketers, such as Mahela Jayawardene.“
