WE WILL FIGHT IT OUT: DECLARES MANISH SISODIA

New Delhi, June 9: Reacting strongly to the arrest of his colleague and Law Minister Jitender Tomar in a fake degree row, an aggressive Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said, “We will fight it out” and that none would be spared trying to create hurdles in the war against corruption launched by the Arvind Kejriwal government. Addressing a news conference here, Sisodia directly attacked Lt Governor Najib Jung for shielding the corrupt and cited the specific case of a scam in transport department in which the CBI had sought his sanction to launch prosecution proceedings against the accused. However, the L-G denied sanction. Sisodia said his government initiated action in this case yesterday and within no time, proceedings were launched against Tomar. “The police went to his office in the morning saying he was to accompany them to his residence and produce some papers. However, on the way, the police told his driver to get down and his vehicle was driven straight to the police station saying he was under arrest. The police behaved as if dealing with some mafia don”, he said. He made it clear the controversy had been going on about the authenticity of Tomar’s law degree and the case was in Delhi High Court. Moreover, the college concerned had submitted affidavit to the court testifying that Tomar had passed the law degree from that college. Still, he was treated like this only as part of vendetta politics.“I fail to understand what was the emergency to arrest him”, he said.He said the massive and unprecedented mandate given by the people of Delhi to AAP was to root out corruption and this campaign would continue and none would be spared, howsoever high or mighty he might be. The Arvind Kejriwal government would not be cowed down by such intimidation, he added.
