CHANDIGARH: Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev today called on the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal at his official residence as a ‘courtesy call’.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that Baba Ramdev confirmed his participation in the celebrations of 350th foundation day of Sri Anandpur Sahib on June 19.
Taking part in deliberations, Mr. Badal urged Yoga Guru to set up a Yoga-cum-Ayurvedic centre in Punjab near Chandigarh and offered all possible help and support to Baba Ramdev. Responding positively to this proposal, Baba Ramdev impressed upon the Chief Minister to provide land for establishing this centre and hoped this initiative would go a long way in creating awareness amongst the masses about the health and hygiene through practicing Yoga.
The Chief Minister informed Baba Ramdev that people now-a-days are very health conscious and want to stay fit and healthy and the proposed centre would prove to be a useful platform to promote Yoga on the scientific lines on one hand besides benefitting people to get themselves cured from the ailments with ayurvedic therapy on the other.
Baba Ramdev was accompanied by the Chief Coordinator, Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar Dr. Jaideep Arya.
