Enforcement Directorate raids several places in Manesar land deal case

Chandigarh, May 25 : The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday conducted searches at around 10 locations in Delhi and Haryana in connection with its money-laundering probe in the alleged irregularities in land acquisition in Manesar.
Former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda is one of the accused in an FIR registered by the ED in September last year under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Sources said searches were carried out on the premises of some officers and builders. The CBI had registered the case in September 2016 on the allegations that private builders in conspiracy with some public servants of the Haryana government had purchased around 400 acres of land from farmers and land owners of village Manesar, Naurangpur and Gurgaon at throwaway prices. Later, the ED had also registered a PMLA the same month.
