High Court issues notice to Punjab government on Khaira’s petition

Chandigarh, May 9 -The Punjab and Haryana high court today issued notice for May 19 to Punjab Home Secretary, the DGP, Additional DGP, IG Bathinda zone, DIG Ferozepur range and SSP and SP Fazilka on a petition filed by Sukhpal Singh Khaira who has alleged that he apprehended registration of a false case against him.He prayed that he should be given a month’s time in case he was to be summoned for questioning by the police in any case.He said he had been opposing the policies of the Akali Dal-BJP government and he was now being made victim of vendetta politics.He specifically referred to his name having been included in a case registered in Jalalabad police station of Fazilka district on March 5 under NDPS, Arms Act and IT Act registered against 11 persons.
