Paris Saint-Germain fans file case against UEFA

Paris, May 1: Around 150 Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) fans have filed a complaint against the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) in a French court over Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations, claiming that they harm the team and thereby favour other sports organisations. Fans filed the complaint on Thursday before the Paris Grand Instance Court here with the support of a series of reports insisting that the association’s FFP regulations, driven by UEFA president Michel Platini, infringe on standards of free competition, reports Efe.PSG was previously sanctioned for not respecting the FFP regulations which limit its ability to sign players, making the team, in the fans view, unable to compete on an equal footing with more established clubs. The fans also noted that the standardised rules do not account for disparate taxation in different countries.
