Punjabi singer Dharampreet commits suicide!

Chandigarch : Punjabi singer Dharampreet has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan on Sunday, June 7, says The Indian Express. The popular singer was reportedly suffering from depression due to a downfall in his career. Ironically, the Bhatinda-based Dharampreet was known for his sad songs. Reports say the 38-year-old singer committed suicide at home when his wife and son were away at his in-laws’ house for summer vacation. However, Dharampreet’s mother was present in the house but unaware of the suicide. She knocked on the door of his room and with no response coming, informed the neighbours. Upon breaking the door, the neighbours found Dharampreet hanging from the ceiling fan. There was no suicide note.Dharampreet began his career in 1993 and had recorded 26 music albums, which were all popular. But the singer’s work in the past two years had not received a good response and hence he was under depression. Reports say an FIR under section 174 of the IPC has been lodged with the police. Dharampreet’s body has been handed over to his family after a post-mortem. Our condolences to Dharampreet’s family.
