Two NRIs on visit to Punjab gone missing, Police gropes in the dark

CHANDIGARH: The deteriorating law and order problem and growth of mafias in Punjab is now endangering lives of common people. Though score of cases of murder, robbery, kidnapping and rape are reported everyday from acorss the Punjab, the news of two NRIs, one from UK and one from USA suspected to have been kidnapped during their visit to Punjab is highly disturbing.In one of the cases even Punjab and Haryana High Court has taken the cognizance of failure of Police to locatre the missing NRI girl of Tarn Taran who holds green card of USA. Gurnam Singh father of the girl said that her daughter had came to Punjab to meet the family and she went to pay obeisance at Golden Temple Amritsar. She never returned home. The police even refused to register a case of missing person. It was on the orders of High Court that police registered a case. Ramandeep Singh Bal lawyer of the victim family said that police had not investigated the case in right direction even though police was provided the names of suspects who had threatned the mother of missing girl on mobile phone.
