Two planes carrying parachutists collide over Slovakia, killing 7

New York, Aug 21 : Two small planes carrying a team of two pilots and 17 parachutists practicing for a group jump at a coming air show, have collided over western Slovakia, killing seven people.According to the New York Times, 31 people were able to parachute to safety.The Slovak aviation authorities said the Czech-made Let L-140 turboprop planes collided at about 5,000 feet near the village of Cerveny Kamen around 7:20 a.m.A Slovak Ministry of Health spokesman said that four pilots and three of the parachutists died while five parachutists had minor injuries.
