152 pilgrims from Pakistan arrived to pay obeisance at Rouza Sharif

FATEHGARH SAHIB: Around 152 pilgrims from Pakistan arrived here today to pay obeisance at Rouza Sharif urs, Fatehgarh Sahib. Fatehgarh Sahib SDM Pooja Grewal Syal, Naib Tehsildar Manjit Singh and senior police officials received the Jatha of 152 pilgrims and 2 officials and Pakistan High Commission at Sirhind Railway Station around 3.30 am today. Pilgrims were accorded warm welcome by the district administration officials. The three days annual Rouza Sharif Urs will start from December 9 at the tomb of Sufi saint Sheikh Ahmad Farooqui in Sirhind, considered one of the holiest places in Islam, second after Makka.Large number of Muslims from various parts of the country will come to attend the urs, which will be held from December 9 to December 11. The district administration has made elaborate arrangement for the holding of the Urs in front of Baba Moti Ram Memorial Trust building near Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib. Fatehgarh Sahib Deputy Commissioner Shruti Sharma informed that district administration have made arrangements of adequate bus service and parking space, proper drinking water and health facilities and uninterrupted power supply to area likely to be visited by the devotees. Health authorities have asked to proper arrangement of medicines so that devotees would not face any problem. The police had made special arrangements for security of pilgrims and to ward off any untoward incident. All the devotees would be provided adequate security.
