1984 Sikh Genocide: Validity of The SIT Was Extended For No Reason

NEW DELHI : In information shared by the RTI (Right to Information Act) cell of the union government of India, it has come to light that the validity of the SIT (Special Investigation Team) appointed to re-probe the Sikh genocide of 1984 was extended for no reason. The Special Investigation Team was organized by the Modi led Union government of India on February 12, 2015. Initially, the SIT was instructed to re-probe all the records of police stations, and files of Justice J.D.N and Sri D.K Aggarwal committee until August 11, 2016 within six months. But the SIT couldn’t present any efficient results due to which the validity of the SIT was extended for a year. The RTI Cell incharge of Aam Admi Party Sri Dinesh Chadha alleged that the Modi led Union government of India has extended the validity of SIT for no reason. He added that the Union government was adamant on extending the probe time to defend the culprits of Sikh genocide of 1984.Speaking with Sikh24 on May 25, Chief Organizing Secretary of Youth Akali Dal in Amritsar, S. Papalpreet Singh, said that the victims of the Sikh genocide of 1984 should stop dreaming of justice in Indian regime. “Neither Congress nor BJP or others will deliver justice,” he added. Papalpreet Singh said that Sikhs have no hopes from STIs organized by the Government.
