2 civilians killed, 3 injured as Pak troops pound border posts, villages in Rajouri

Jammu, May 13 : Two civilians were killed and three others were injured as Pakistani troops resorted to heavy shelling on Indian posts and several villages along the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Saturday, drawing sharp retaliation from the Indian Army.
Shahid Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, confirmed the death of two civilians in Jhangar area of Nowshera sector.
Tufail Hussain and his daughter Asia Bi were killed while his wife Zatoon Begam was injured and has been referred to GMC, Jammu.
Four soldiers also received injuries in the shelling.
This is the third ceasefire violation along the Indo-Pak border in Jammu and Kashmir in the past three days. “The Pakistani Army initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics, 82 mm and 120 mm mortars from 0715 hours along the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector”, Lt Col Manish Mehta, PRO, Ministry of Defence (MoD), Jammu, said.
